The Company

Armstrong Fox Textiles began in September 2004 when two textile designers, Lesley Armstrong and Anke Fox, formed a partnership. In 2009, Lesley Armstrong became the sole owner of the business and continues to bring her thirty-five years of textile experience to the company. Combining extensive technical skills with a sophisticated sense of aesthetics, Lesley is influenced by her Nova Scotian surroundings to create distinctive woven fabrics and fashion accessories.

With a European design sensibility, Armstrong Fox Textiles produces contemporary scarves and shawls, introducing new product lines each season. The company also custom designs and weaves fabric for interior applications.

Armstrong Fox Textiles embraces and celebrates traditional textile technologies because of their flexibility and their beauty. The company uses a variety of technologies to produce distinctive products. The equipment includes a vintage power loom, once used to weave Harris Tweed in Scotland, a multi-harness vintage American dobby power loom, and various handlooms. Using finishing techniques developed through years of experimentation, the products emphasize unique textural and visual effects, always with the focus on subtle and striking designs. The resulting styles are sophisticated and sensuous.
